Revelations, Dr. N. Sreekala's collection of poems, is a journey of the poetic persona along with the intimate world around her. It is a rainbow mix of the personal and the political. The poems reveal a creativity that is equally at home addressing issues that are philosophical, social and self explorative. The sixty-three poems divided into seven segments flow into one another as the writer ruminates on the experiences in life, sickness, death and the life beyond. Her love for nature, humans, and animals, are reflected in the poems that reveal her strong attachments and bonding with life, around. Many of the poems that depict the violence in society, the harassment of women, the inhumanity of contemporary society, place Sreekala as a very socially committed writer. Some of her nature poems are fascinating spectacles of the beauty of nature. The trees, the squirrels, the birds, the fruits and the flowers make the writer a member of the green family. Her quest for extracting meaning from this life finds expression in the segment titled Philosophic Musings. The pandemic poems are a clear expression of the emotions of people living through a global pandemic. Her power of carrying the trivial to sublime heights, in poems like 'Black," reflects her unique craft of writing.
